What is the American Dream to be exact?. The American Dream a belief that was created in 1931 by historian and writer, James Truslow Adams which was anyone, regardless of where they were born or the social class that they were born in can attain their own version of success in a society where upward mobility is possible for everyone. America is supposedly the “land of opportunity”.

The goal of the American Dream was to have freedom and great wealth and many will disagree with the fact that the American Dream is unattainable but however, if we all do not have the same open door opportunities then each individuals perception is going to be different. The American Dream isn’t attainable for everyone because of the unequal opportunities that everyone gets, the amount of education needed in order to advance, and also financial struggles. First of all, as kids we were all told that whatever you wanted to be you can do anything you want as long as you work hard to get it and we actually believed that statement but look at us now still struggling.
