This survey is carried out to study the students’ awareness and knowledge regarding learning disabilities that are caused by ADHD AND Dyslexia. Dyslexia is a language-based learning disability meanwhile ADHD is a deficiency of attention that may cause one to be unable in controlling their impulses. The dysfluency of both ADHD person and dyslexic reader may negatively impact their comprehension. Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words. Signs and symptoms of Dyslexia can be hard to recognize before a child reaches school age and the symptoms on child before entering school are usually late talking, slow in learning new words, confusion on words that sound alike and problems remembering or naming letters, numbers and colours.
When a child is in school, the symptoms will be more noticeable And some of the symptoms shown are having problems in processing and understanding what they hear, difficulties in forming answers to questions, problems remembering the sequence of things, difficulty in spelling and also spending too much time in completing tasks that involve reading or writing. Symptoms of Dyslexia in teens and adults are similar of those in children but they would also have problems in solving mathematical problems, difficulty in learning foreign language and also memorizing. Dyslexia often run in families and it’s linked to genes that affect how the brain processes reading and language, but some environmental factors can also become a cause for one to develop this disorder. A few factors of Dyslexia are a family history of Dyslexia or other learning disabilities, exposure to nicotine, drugs, alcohol or infection that may alter brain during pregnancy and premature birth or low birth weight. In order to get the right treatment, A doctor or educational specialist will perform several tests to figure out the how severe the problem is. A couple reading programs for children with Dyslexia are Orthon-Gillingham program that teaches kids to match letters with sounds and recognize letter sounds in words meanwhile Multisensory Instructions program teaches children to use all of their senses to learn new skills.
Getting special education such as meeting learning or reading specialist can also help in curing a dyslexic person.
