There is a hero in everyone “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” (Campbell). When we think of heroes most of us think of movie star superheroes, but it’s not always about your popularity or talent it can also be about how you help society. What I think makes a great hero is someone who is able to overcome his or her obstacles in life, is highly motivated, and has plenty of bravery. Matthew Cobos is my hero because he shows traits like courage, bravery and sacrifice. Matthew showed courage by running into the danger.
With all the shootings going on knowing we have someone who will run into the danger and help others inside of looking the other way is comefording. Matthew shielded a woman from gunfire with his own body and then ran back into the danger zone and provided life saving medical treatment and plugged other peoples bullet holes with his own fingers. Another trait Matthew showed was bravery he showed baverey by shielding a woman with his own body knowing that he could have been shot. I believe Matthew didn’t care that he could have been shot i think he just wanted to help and make sure everyone else was safe even though he wasn’t. Even though he isnt a soldier anymore he still helps and lives by his promise to the army. The final trait I choose was sacrifice Matthew showed sacrifice by running into the gunfire and shielding a woman with his own body.
