“There are substitutes for soil; there is no substitute for fresh water”- Paul Ehrlich. So, Why care? Care because clean water is a need that everyone in the world should have. Inequality in the population is causing millions of people not to have clean water. Poverty is also a contributing factor for the lack of it.
Without furthermore, they just have the option of taking water out of polluted rivers, and we have factories to thank. Dirty water kills 5,000 children a day (Ashley Seager, 2016, pg.1). Now, can you imagine how much does dirty water kills in a whole year? A lot huh.
All because we don’t emphasize the importance, we see it as something irrelevant, that won’t affect us in the future. But it will, and is already changing us, little by little, only that we still don’t notice it, yet. Why inequality? Inequality because we know that if we have money and our parents work in a company and have a good position in the work they don’t have to worry about paying the rent, bringing food to the table, drinking refreshing water. We also know that if we have not the best luck and is born with a family that their parents earn just a dollar a day, our brothers need to work to bring us food, In conclusion, We now thankfully have more knowledge on our big issue, clean water.
We now know how much organisms depend because of it, so we need to take care of it, every last bit of drop.
