The MGI’s team consisted of seven members, including three founders; Alexandra (Sasha) Gimpelson, Roman Yukab and Igor Tkachenko, and the other four; Henry Tam Jr. and Dana Soiman from Harvard Business School, Day Clark from MIT and Alex Jan Sartakov from Boston Berklee College.
In evaluating the team’s process from five stages of group development, the forming stage itself was a drawback, as not all members were present from the beginning to start off with. For example, Roman Yukab was not present in the first meeting, Alex Jan Sartakov was introduced in the second meeting by Igor and Sasha and lastly, Day Clark was introduced in the third meeting.
We also saw conflicts in expectations, also frustrations had risen and confusion amongst the members as well. While Henry and Dana saw themselves as strategic contributors to the MGI’s business strategy, nevertheless to Sasha they just seemed as interns and business plan writers, but in Igor’s vision they seemed to be the contributors to their strategy.
