The Four Contemporary Approaches to Management are: Sociotechnical Systems, Quantitative Management, Organizational Behavior, and Systems Theory. Sociotechnical Systems Theory is an approach to job design that attempts to redesign tasks to optimize operation of a new technology while preserving employees’ interpersonal relationships and other human aspect of work. Quantitative management is another contemporary way to deal with administration that organizes numerical or factual examination as reason of choice. The organizational behavior contemporary approach mainly considers the practices, cooperation, and interaction of laborers. Systems theory shows that the organization’s performance depends on how effective it is in providing goods or services using either natural or man-made independent parts.
The internal environment of an organization is the set of employees, processes and components inside then organization. The competitive environment involves the organization and competitors that can enter from any industry, channel function, form or marketing activity. The macro-environment of an organization involves other variables beyond the market, such as political, economical, social, and technological variables.
The definition of “open systems” is organizations that are affected by, and the affect, their external environment. The organization is an open system because its components and process change due to external factors. The contemporary approaches are relevant in the three environments
