Servant Leadership NameInstitutionInstructorCourseDate How Servant Leadership Contributes To Competitive Advantage in Contemporary OrganizationsServant leadership has many advantages to an organization, which include motivating employees and creating a good relationship between the leaders and the employees of the organization (Davis, 2017).
Servant leadership also helps organizations to have a competitive advantage over other organizations with similar goals. This is achieved as servant leadership enables the leaders to invest more in their employees who are important in driving the organization to achieve the set goals and objectives (Davis, 2017). Employees constitute the team responsible for helping an organization in achieving the set objectives. This means that employees have a direct impact on the success of an organization as well as the failure to achieve the desired goals (Davis, 2017).
Unsatisfied employees will have poor results due to unsatisfied needs, which may negatively impact their performance. With servant leaders addressing the needs of their employees, this will help in increasing the morale of the employees (Davis, 2017). Employees who feel valued also increase trust and respect which will also lead to professional development in their areas of their work (Davis, 2017).. With every member having improved performance in their areas, the organization will likely attain their set objectives, which will give the organization a competitive advantage over other organizations, which aim at attaining similar goals (Davis, 2017). Some of the companies, which have thrived as servant leaders, include Starbucks, which is a successful coffee shop due to how they treat their employees (Bachelder, 2015). Starbucks has invested in their employees by providing free tuition college tuition, which is aimed to increase the value of their employees, which has enabled the employees to improve their service to their customers (Bachelder, 2015).
Marriott International is also a successful company due to the emphasis put on by the founder Bill Marriott on the investment on the customer as well as the employees of the organization (Bachelder, 2015). The founder has emphasized on a spirit to serve in the organization where the leaders are good examples to the rest of the employees of the organization. ReferencesBachelder, C. (2015).
