Discipline is having a calm and controlled behaviour. It is where you order and control yourself or others depending on the position you in, for example if you were an officer in the army you have to have discipline to tell the other soldiers what to do and how to do it properly. Then there is self-discipline where you must have discipline yourself which is a type of mind-set and takes motivation to follow through with punishing yourself. It is basically training people to obey rules or a follow a certain type of behaviour, using a punishment to correct mistakes or disobedience.
I think that I have quite a few skills and qualities that would be classed as demonstrating self-discipline and would be needed to join any of the services. The qualities of self-discipline can go on and on but I think that the main thing to remember is putting max effort into your performance throughout life, but then it can be but into smaller categories like:
• Personal grooming
• Time management
If you lack or don’t have any of the things mentioned above then more likely than not, you will not be able to excel in things in life and get into highly applied jobs etc. For example poor punctuality could mean
