Patient Advocate RolesNameInstitutionInstructorCourseDate Patient Advocate RolesCommunity Clinic Design OutlineAs a patient advocate, my major roles include ensuring the safety of all patients and that all patients have access to quality healthcare services in the country regardless of their location and their economic status, which has a direct impact to their insurance coverage (DeNisco & Barker, 2016). My roles as a member of the healthcare team include ensuring that a healthcare facility has enough nurses to address all patients in a healthcare facility (DeNisco & Barker, 2016). Staffing a community clinic will involve participation on the policy making process (DeNisco & Barker, 2016).

Healthcare policies influence the staffing process and by presenting a staffing plan to the relevant authorities responsible for the policy making process, a consensus can be agreed upon on how to staff the community clinic as this is meant to improve strategies aimed at achieving healthcare goals in the state as well as the national levels (DeNisco & Barker, 2016). Most healthcare facilities are funded by the government with support from other private organizations, which are interested in improving healthcare service delivery in the country (DeNisco & Barker, 2016). A patient advocate can access funding from sources, which include non-governmental sources, donors, and the government (DeNisco & Barker, 2016). Since most patient advocates represent healthcare facilities in a given region, they are involved in meetings which are meant to analyze strategies to improve healthcare provision and policy making decisions which some involve financial decisions and a patient advocate can present a budget to the committee members who can make a decision relating to its funding (DeNisco & Barker, 2016). With good communication with the government and other healthcare agencies, the advocate can collaborate with these agencies in the implementation process of the community clinic and since these agencies have an aim of promoting the healthcare system, they can provide funds to help in the implementation process (DeNisco & Barker, 2016).

Evidence-based research can be used in the policy development for healthcare funding as evidence-research provides evidence of the best strategies that can provide funding to a health care facility (Rubin & Bellamy, 2013). Policy development is a very critical process in the health care sector as these policies impact the public as well as the government (Rubin & Bellamy, 2013). The use of evidence-based research plays a vital role in the policy development since the policies developed have been proved of their success and effectiveness (Rubin & Bellamy, 2013). One strategy of involving evidence-based research in policy development for healthcare funding is better communication, which has been proved to increase the use of evidence-based research in policy development (Rubin & Bellamy, 2013).

This can be achieved by presenting research information to policy makers, which will positively impact the policy-making process (Rubin & Bellamy, 2013). Involving researchers in the policy-making process is also a strategy to involve research-based research in policy development for healthcare funding which will provide information, which will enable a better decision-making process (Rubin & Bellamy, 2013).ReferencesDeNisco, S.
