n this activity, we are going to review how to write a Personal Development Plan (PDP). As we have seen already, learning and development activities can range from learning something completely new to enhancing and developing existing skills, behaviour or knowledge.
You may, for example, already have all the necessary skills to carry out your role effectively but there may be other skills, knowledge or behaviours that can help enhance your effectiveness. These might be good communication or leadership skills. A PDP can help you identify areas which could benefit from development and identify those things that you are very good at already, enabling you to take advantage of any opportunities that may arise.
Any development activities you choose should reflect your learning preferences and be relevant to your identified learning need. Recording what we intend to do, and making it clear how and by when we intend to complete it, is part of ensuring that we get something done. SMART principles will alway
