Leadership is the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to influence and guide followers or other members of an organization.
Leadership involves making sound — and sometimes difficult — decisions, creating and articulating a clear vision, establishing achievable goals and providing followers with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve those goals. Leaders are found and required in most aspects of society, from business to politics to region to community-based organizations. While there are people who seem to be naturally endowed with more leadership abilities than others, people can learn to become leaders by improving particular skills.
This paper will talk about my experience in my community, especially my experience with my Superior. This is an experience during my formation in the noviciat. I found that my master was a very calm person, he rarely speaks, and he does not even smile when someone speaks with him.
When I arrived at the novitiate, I was afraid to meet him because he seems to be someone very serious. I met him for the first time in his office for the monthly meeting with the master. During this meeting, I noticed that he paid me a lot of attention by listening to me and looking at my eyes. When I finished speaking, he started to smile as he welcomed me to the novitiate. My intention was that how can I live in this house with a manager who does not speak and does not even smile with young novices.
