History of Pyscological EgoismEpicureanism highly claims that we all humans survive to maximize our own pleasure.Ancient Greek philoshopher Epicurus , humanity performs altruistic, selfless or honorable act not for sake of another or for morality but to increase self-pleasure .There is a famous example for this theory.Ex-If Jay helps Shivansh from a accident ,Egoists would tell that its not an altruistic act,as there are chances that Jay would feel happy for his good deed and in future he could ask his favour for his future pleasure.
Jay might have wanted a good feeling being a hero or avoid social critic that he should have helped Shivansh . Most of philosophers considers this theory to be false.Example to this fallacy – If a soldier dies by jumping on a grenade to save his colleague soldiers , there is no simply time to experience positivity ,though a pyschological egoists would argue that a soldier would get more positivity by knowing that he is sacrificing his life for saving others.
