Financial Management Interview
While I was sitting down and doing this interview with my healthcare financial manager Kimberly Lewis, I learned that it is not an easy job and she told me that she had to work long hours. I have asked her the following questions about her role as a business manager for Winchester Nursing and Rehabilitation in Winchester, Massachusetts, and her clear direction in pursuit of her common aims, and consistent policies and practices across all government health care functions and programs that are needed to raise the level of healthcare care for the residents, staff, and families. (Kaufman, K. 2007).
Question # 1 What financial functions are carried out by you as a manager? First and foremost, Kim mentioned to me her primary role of financial management is to plan for, acquire, and utilize funds (capital) to maximize the efficiency and value of the enterprise. (Baker, J. J., & Baker, R. W. 2018).
Question # 2 What kind of training did you receive in order to perform these functions? Kimberly Lewis told me the purpose is about creating a detailed plan towards achieving a specific organizational objective. (Gapenski, 2013). Kim Lewis told me in the interview that she went to school and had training knowing that working in Salter Healthcare as a financial healthcare manager she knows that the organization needs to accomplish in order for her to achieve some desired level of performance. (Askin, E., M., N & Shankar, V 2014 Chapter 3, pg. 2-12).
Question # 3 What is your perspective on health care complexity and how does that impact your thinking on the value of health care services? Kim told me that it is imperative to have a basic understanding and with continuing education throughout her career she needs to keep up with the latest changes and new information. (Santiago, A. 2018). For her to keep her certification, she must have many years of post-graduate training to include masters and doctorate degrees. (Cleverley, W. & Cleverley, J. 2017).
What I learned from this interview with Kimberly Lewis who is my healthcare financial manager for Winchester Nursing and Rehabilitation by doing this, as an employee I will have the qualifications necessary to do the job and when I graduate with this degree it will help me for the future in either a hospital, nursing homes, and other healthcare organizations. Also, doing this interview with Kimberly Lewis it gave me an understanding that it is a difficult job but it also it can be rewarding working with others.
The difference between Health care Value is management runs the healthcare organization and administration handles the staffing. Since Kimberly Lewis is the healthcare financial manager for Winchester Nursing and Rehabilitation when it come to me, I want to study to be in healthcare administration and with working towards MBA in Business Healthcare Administration it will give me the skills and when it comes to leadership skills and the need for good management practices.
As a Christian and an employee at Winchester Nursing and Rehabilitation with practical career experience will be able to give me the advice, I need to make the right decision. In my compassion, as a Christian I should be involved in helping provide high quality care in servicing others including residents, patients, and working with other healthcare staff. (Jeremiah 30:17 New Kings Version). For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the LORD, because they have called you an outcast: ‘It is Zion, for whom no one cares!’
