Discuss the essential skills necessary to remain employable in the 21st Century, a time of rapid technological change
Do you think technology will be instead of labour? Are you going to be worried about your future job? In the 21st century, technology is getting more and more powerful, therefore it’s really important to know what essential skills people are going to get from now on. In the first section of this research, I am going to make people understand how technology changes and what the job will be look like? From the second to fifth section, I will explain four domain of skills that must get in the 21st century. For the last section, because lots of students might be anxious about their future so I will give some recommendations for some students who are going to face it. (clear introduction clear)
The future of work
In the past, agriculture is the main job which is the most popular that people do. Afterwards, industry is getting more and more popular than the agriculture, so starting to push farmers out of fields and into factories. About a decade ago, technology is growing up and lots of people no longer stay in the “shop floor”() anymore, they are going into the office to work and face the screen. However, the revolution is not going to stop it, the newest revolution is “digital and robotic” (Aoun,2017). Previously, automation has only instead of one occupation which is elevator operators but now automation is able to do something more than elevator such as self driving cars, siri automating tasks and fewer warehouse jobs. On the other hand, people believe that most of their jobs will take over by machines. According to the author discussed in this problem(re-word) showing us that it does not mean people are going to loss their jobs. It actually told us that we are going to work in that job which we pick but working in other ways (Mahdawi and Chalabi, 2018). Conversely, there are three kinds of risk jobs that might no longer hiring labour such asroutine, repetitive and predictable, because these kinds of jobs are doing same thing again and again which means machine is able to do this as well(). When machines are more developed, business can pay less money on the machines than labour. Therefore, we have no point not to know what the essential skills necessary to keep employable.

Core subjects and skills
There are three basic skills which shows on the table – reading, writing and numeracy. In this every single skill which has their own reason to be significant. For example, reading is the first part of learning that makes people gain the knowledge and to help people be able to deep thinking. On the other hand, if people have writing skills, they are probably able to write something to influence people because lots of people use much more social media than before. The last skill is numeracy which helps people irritate our brain and also improves people’s judgement. These three skills are likely to the foundations of a building. Therefore, the next necessary skills will be level up a little bit but it needs to take time to finish this building.
Learning and innovation skills
Critical thinking, problem solving and communication are the most important things in this part of the skills which are going to make the building stronger similarly to cement. Critical thinking is the ability to think deeply and logically that make people manage the things when it happens. People have to learn problem solving is due to cope with the real problem while people encounter after graduation from school. Thus, people can solve problems variously and transcend the robots and machines. An author said “if you give a man fish, you feed him for a day. But if you teach the man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime” (Kivunja, 2018). Obviously, telling us to learn how to solve problems, therefore we understand it and to be well equipped to deal with problems. The last one is the communication ability that shows we are able to do teamwork because if people can not cooperate with each other, we might lose some better opinions in the 21st century, teamwork will be more effective than individual work. These are the cement of this building but if you got all these skills with other people, I would suggest that the house decoration of building can make your inner quality much more fantastic t
Career and life skills
What are fantastic abilities that get the house decorations done? Regarding the ability of house cement, collaboration and leadership are also part of teamwork that shows how significant skills in the 21st century. I believe when people start to collaborate with teammates, it is going to raise up people’s brain becoming flexibility. Furthermore, leadership is always related to be responsibility which means whoever the role you are in a team, you must get your business done. Whereas, it still has only one left of the domain we need to look at which is digital literacy skills.
Digital literacy skills
As we know, technology is growing up fast that force us to operate it. On the other hand, computer literacy and information literacy will be useful skills that help us be able to “analyse media and to interpret messages and to apply a fundamental understanding of the ethical and legal issues surrounding the access and use of media” (Kivunja, 2018). Therefore, every single person has responsibilities for learning digital literacy to keep our society be as good as technology. For instance, if lots of things changed by machine like self-service food ordering system, we should be able to use it and also understand what the system is. As all the skills I have described, it is better to show the information for some people who are worried about and students.
The future work environment is viewed as being high-innovation virtual and worldwide, different, focused yet self-ruling, and individuals will sort out their own work examples to fit their coveted way of life (Davis and Blass, 2007). However, each of these skills are basically related to each other such as numeracy with creativity, reading with critical thinking, communication with collaboration and leadership and teamwork with information literacy. As we can see from the table, it showed that all the skills coming from core subjects and skills which means before getting other skills done, we should learn the basic skills completely. Thus, other skills will probably get it by naturally. Some people might consider about the subjects when they go to university, there are three particularly subjects that I recommend. Firstly, department of languages which help your brain keep working and really improve a lot your communication skills as I am also working this kind of community. I have been looking hundreds of people coming to my work place and practice language which they want to learn. I found something interesting which is people who are speaking fluently other languages exceptionally their native language, these kinds of people are more likely to have mostly skills from the table anyway. Secondly, it’s department of theatre because do you want to watch robot be actor? Of course not, I would always prefer the real people acting the drama or movies. The last subject is department of diplomacy which is really helpful when people are able to keep between countries relationship because some of powerful countries will be developed more quickly than others. According to the essential skills in the 21st century, the three subjects that I have just recommended are related to the necessary skills which mean people absolutely get a job in the future.
According to a ted talk video, we do not want a “great technology embedded in shabby society (McAfee, 2018).People can predict how amazing the world will be but they can’t guess how worst the society will be. Therefore, when technology be the most incredible substance in the world, we must still be carefully in ethics and morals. Every single of us has responsibilities to keep the world peaceful as usual.
