Dear Sir, Madam,I am really very grateful that I get to apply for my Master of Science program in Construction Management offered by Coventry University in United Kingdom for the year 2018-2019. I am a proud Civil Engineer with emphasis in various concepts of Civil Engineering; graduated from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum (India). I am a very dedicated, disciplined and intellectual person which has allowed me to do well in both academic as well as sports.
I was born in India and my native language is Hindi, I also consider English as one of my native language because it has been my medium of study for over 16 years. Well, I am extremely content and proud with my choice of engineering as my career option as it has the most level-headed and practical way of tackling human problems to me. My childhood admiration of my uncle, a civil contractor who I frequently accompanied for his site visits plays a major role towards my interests in the civil engineering field. I visited many sites and witnessed the different machines and related processes, made me excited about the practical know how of development activities. My desire to pursue my MS in Construction Management stems from the consistent accumulation of theories and unsophisticated practical applications of the concepts I witnessed during my visit to sites. Everyone throughout their lives dream of traveling or living in some country around the world, for me that has been United Kingdom. I always had in my mind to continue my higher studies after obtaining my Bachelor’s degree and wanted to pursue it in a different country. UK was always my place of interest and I started my search for M.
Sc. degrees for civil engineering in universities in the country, investigating all the courses and its competences in different areas. I was recommended the Coventry University and I found that it is one of the top universities in UK according to QS World University Rankings.
Therefore, there was no question that this is where I would want to obtain my master’s degree, not only because it was the best university in UK but it offered a program that had everything I was looking for.Admission into this program would be a step towards becoming a better and more educated civil engineer. It is a perfect addition to the knowledge I obtained in undergraduate school, where I have learnt basics and principles of physics and mathematics for planning design, construction and operation of infrastructure projects. I hope to learn and explore more in management field, obtaining knowledge in innovative construction techniques and anthropic hazards and risk management. This giving me the perfect tools and knowledge not only to handle projects and infrastructure but to evaluate their environmental impacts. I also hope to reinforce and perfect previous education on how to plan, control and manage different civil engineering projects.
Considering my academic performance so far and my longing to enrich my knowledge in civil engineering, personal and professional experiences. As a determined and self-motivated person, I am confident that I will be an excellent addition to the university and the M.Sc.
