Biotechnology is exploiting the environment. Nowadays, the breakthrough in medical researches has led to the cure of many deadly diseases.

It has become possible to transplant the organs. The advancements in the medical field are boon for those people who are suffering from deadly diseases. However, these advancements can be a curse for the animals which are used to test the new drugs before applying to human beings. The medical students and surgeons perform their first surgeries on animals. Some experiments are performed without giving anesthetics to the beasts. “Among the procedures used in the research are induced heart attack in a conscious animal, exposure to infectious diseases or lethally toxic agents, and multiple surgeries” (Orlans et al. 294). These procedures lead to irreversible disabilities or even deaths among the animals.

Creature testing is unjustified.1Scientists are depleting endangered species. Many animals are used in scientific experiments. In the United States of America, about 1.37 million beasts have undergone research procedures in 2010 excluding the animals which are not on the list of Animal Welfare Act (Badyal and Desai 258). Many of these animals suffer permanent disabilities or lose their lives as they are exposed to toxic chemicals and tortured mentally as well as physical to record the variations in behaviors in different situations. Some endangered species are becoming extinct as they capture the interest of biological researches because their internal organs are somewhat similar to human beings. Therefore, scientists prefer to use them in most of their experiments to obtain precise results.

The repeated use of same species in experimentation leads to the extinction of that particular species. For example: …. the use of frogs in India need special permission from the respective State Chief Wildlife Warden, since the frogs are labeled as endangered species. Frogs are included under Schedule IV of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 of India as well as under the red list of International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources. (qtd. in Badyal and Desai 258)2The animals feel pain. Evidence from different researchers prove that animals are capable to sense pain like human beings (Ferdowsian and Beck 2). Various animals are vivisected and exposed to poisonous chemicals in the conscious state.

According to the Report on Enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act. U.S. Department of Agriculture, in the USA in 2006, about 1,000,000 beasts were used in painful experiments out of which 84000 creatures were used in the conscious state as they could feel pain during the experimentation (qtd. in Badyal and Desai 260). It is difficult for the animals to bear the pain as they are not familiar to the conditions to which they are subjected during experimentation.

The animals have a nervous system and they can sense pain. Therefore, it is cruel and inhumane to cause pain to other living beings for the benefits of human beings.3Unfortunately, all creatures in the animal kingdom are not completely similar. Although humans and animals are grouped into the same category known as the animal kingdom, but animals are not entirely similar to human beings.

“cellular and molecular” processes are different in humans and animals. The disease originates at the “cellular and molecular” levels (Greek and Greek 16). Therefore, animals cannot be ideal for testing the drugs for the treatment of diseases in humans although both animals and human beings are part of the animal kingdom, yet they are not entirely similar.

4The working with animals is dangerous for the researchers. Animals having different kinds of germs can cause harm to laboratory workers. The allergies are very common among the workers of animal laboratories as animals like rats, dogs, and cats carry allergens which can cause skin problems and diseases related to the respiratory system.

(article) The other challenge for the animal laboratory workers is to work with aggressive wild animals. it is difficult to handle wild animals. As frustrated and frightened animals can attack the scientists. Animals can bite and scratch the scientists.

it is not right to put the lives of human beings in danger for the research purposes. hence, animal experimentation is perilous for the workers.5The injuries caused to the healthy beast are unreasonable.

Various animals are given disabilities or even killed to study the effect of injuries. In the University of Pennsylvania, uncurable head injuries were caused to healthy baboons to study the effect of impairments in the human head (Orlans et al. 79). It is wrong to give disabilities to the healthy beasts just for experiments. The mentally retarded animals and human beings can be used for this purpose. It should not be taken as guaranteed to only use animals for testing.

In the American Museum of Natural History, cats were given disabilities in the eyes, brain and sexual organs to study their behaviors in different situations (Rudacille 129-130).6Experiments done on the animals are not necessarily be successful on human beings. For example, during experimentation, penicillin casted adverse effects on guinea pigs but when used for human beings its results were positive (LaFollette and shanks 24-25). Drugs are tested on animals to ensure their safety for human beings but if these tests do not ensure the safety of chemicals then torturing the animals for drug testing is useless.

The drugs which get approval on the basis of their positive results in animals can be dangerous for the health of human beings. Not only drugs but animal tested surgeries also show opposite effects on human beings. Such as, “cardiac-bypass surgery” was successfully tried on animals, but this surgery caused fatalities when implemented on human beings (Greek and Greek 17).

7Alternatives methods are more useful than using animals in research. In this era of technological advancements, many researchers have developed computerized methods for digital dissection of animals and to see the structure of human and animal internal organs using computers. (ethics of using animals). Therefore, it is useless to take the lives of animals. Moreover, computer software can be used to predict the extent to which the chemical is dangerous. (ethics of using animals) furthermore, “in vitro” research methods are getting popularity because of their precise results (Greek and Greek 102). For example, nowadays, researchers prefer to gather cancer affected human tissues and use them for research (Greek and Greek 102).

In this way, there is no need to vivisect animals when other methods of research exist.IN American exhibition hall of normal history, felines were given physical incapacities in eyes, cerebrum and sexual organs to do conduct examines.Consequently, it contemptible to slaughter creatures when advanced strategies for research and instructing are accessible.
