How can you judge whether learner evidence is;

Sufficient.
Authentic.

Suggest things you can do as an assessor to ensure and check each of these.

The main reason for assessment, is to establish a level of knowledge or skill of the learner in a particular unit or level. This can take place before, during or after a process of learning. Also the importance of feedback to the learner has to be taken into consideration as promotes learning and improves whole process. The main key factors in learning are the evidence; is there sufficient information in the assessment, does it cover all criteria requirements? As an assessor it has to be checked whether the criteria is up-to-date so correct judgement is made. Has the learner been provided with enough information and was the information understood by the learner to carry out the assessment. Continues and on going assessments have to be taken place carried out by the assessor. Was feedback provided to cover all the requirements and ensure information was delivered to the learner in an understanding manner. The assessor must provide feedback which is honest, fair and transparent and well documented.
Is the assessment current and relating to the accurate up-to-date information and requirements? It is the assessor responsibility to ensure information provided is to currant standard of the industry. He/She must be in the know of required criteria or level. and specifications for the required units. Does the evidence show that the learner can perform the competence while working? Ongoing assessments have to be carried out by the assessor. The benchmark is still up to industry standards? Assessor must keep up-to-date with information so the learner can provide accurate and up-to-date assessments covering all the criteria requirements.
The importance of authentic work also must be looked at. Is the work/assessment done by the learner? Assessor will compare previous assessments to the one at hand and compare if the work has been carried out by the learner . This can be done in written formate or verbally by asking the learner questions relating to the assessment.

How you can ensure that assessment decisions are;

Made against specified criteria.
Valid.
Reliable.
Fair.

Suggest things you can do as an assessor to ensure and check each of these.

The four golden rules of gathering evidence for assessment. 
Valid – does the evidence relate to a unit of competence? Does the evidence reflect the four dimensions of competency? Does it address the key competencies? 
Sufficient – is the full range of performance identified in the standards covered? Does the evidence show competence over a period of time and in a range of contexts? 
Current – does the evidence show that the candidate can perform the competence while working? Is it benchmarked against industry standards? 
Authentic – is this the candidate’s own work?
