Constitution provides the establishment of 3 main branches of the government which is executive, legislative and judicial. The Constitution is important because it protects individual freedom, and its fundamental principles govern the Malaysia. The Constitution places the government’s power in the hands of the citizens. It limits the power of the government and establishes a system of checks and balances.• Incident in Lahad DatuThe incident started when Kerajaan Sulu had no aggression to our country. There is a longstanding dispute with the Philippines tied to the claim of the sultanate of Sulu, which had ruled over parts of Sabah before the British transferred it to the Federation of Malaysia in 1963.

The incident which happened in2013, leaving dozens of militants, civilians, and Malaysian security forces dead. Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) planning to resettle residents in the water village within the eastern Sabah Security Zone. The effectiveness of the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) program involving the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and Armed Forces (ATM) was obvious throughout the Lahad Datu joint security forces offensive. Cases are being solved because international court had decided that Sabah and the archipelago is under the Federation of Malaysia. ConclusionAs a conclusion, sovereignty indicate a freedom to make decision within a proper sphere.

It is the most important features which differentiates the State from other associations which have no sovereign power. When a state has its own supreme power, it can maintain its unity and integration. Otherwise, society will become worse and mutual dispute will occur when there is no ultimate power. Malaysia also cannot make or implement laws in the absence of sovereignty. With ultimate power, Malaysia can give protection to the citizens from any external threat or internal disturbances. Thus, the tragic incident like what happened in Lahad Datu is a reminder to Malaysia that shows how important of remaining united for the sake of country’s sovereignty.
